"When I first started with AP Training (April 21), I was a 43 year old dad of 2 who was always consumed by work, social events and family responsibilities. I hadn’t been happy with my weight for a long time but had accepted it. I had phases of weight loss here and there but did not have a consistent approach to Nutrition or Training.

Due to problems with my knees and back I always assumed that I could not train like others, and therefore not look like I how would want to look. Having taken up PT previously they always jumped head first into burpees, squats and lunges that would cause me pain and then stop me training. I built up a mental block to training and gave up on the thought of I could lose weight and be healthier.

During lockdown I had a mental trigger to say I want to get fitter, I have the time, I have the desire and decided to search for an online PT. I interviewed 3 in total, and Ajay was the only one that enquired about my mental state of mind, my deeper reasons and objectives to wanting a PT and what I enjoyed from an exercise perspective. The other 2 were egotistical and almost bootcamp leaders, who would undoubtedly get results for some people but that wouldn’t be sustainable for me. I didn’t want a crash diet or short term solution, I wanted the rest of my life to be healthier and more agile.

Looking back at my time with Ajay it has been a 100% success, not just because I have lost 25kg and kept it off whilst getting back into my busy work and social life, or because I fit into clothes I never thought I could, or because I get compliments on my transformation.. but the main reason for this being a success is I now understand macros, balanced nutrition, training regimes and more importantly my attitude to food and alcohol has changed meaning I have a good time but without putting on weight and managing my week better.

I have tried so many things in the past, fad diets, in person PT, gym, and weight watchers all provided temporary results, 15 months on I have lost weight then maintained successfully and all this with an online coach 6000 miles away that I have not met.

As well as me being healthier, more agile, stronger, and happier another upside was my wife also then went on a transformation and I am teaching my kids more about nutrition and they are taking note which is priceless. I am currently taking a break from AP training to see if I can maintain on my own through summer before I re-join to go on the next part of this journey which is to get much stronger and fine tune my body composition.
